PARAMOTORING

Paramotoring is a new, exciting and awesome extreme sport, only really becoming popular in the past decade. It consists of getting a parachute as used in paragliding and strapping a huge petrol powered fan to your back. it is the most accesible form of powered flight, basically a light aircraft in your boot!!
Unfortunately i have not had the chance yet to go paramotoring but from looking at other blogs and poeples reports, i have heard it is absolutely awesome fun!!

With modern technologies the fan backpacks are getting more and more reliable, more and more powerful and people are getting more and more flight time.

Paragliding and paramotoring can be done by anyone willing to learn, it is open to anyone willing to give it a go.
For anyone wanting to start paramotoring, many places sugest trying paragliding first before moving on to paramotoring.
if you are wanting to buy your own equipment for paramotoring you can get all the equipment first hand from about 5,000 pounds stirling including the training course, not the cheapest, but considering it is a small powered aircraft it's good value. Second hand equipment will bring that price down a lot though. Recommended courses in the UK from the BHPA (british hang-gliding and paragliding association) take around 7 to 10 days, so if you have some free cash and a few free days then look no further. Courses are availible from various locations in the many countries. In australia a good place to start from is High Adventure which offers a two day introductory FREE course for you to get to see if you like it or not, these courses all include equipment and with High Adventure courses thare are only ever 8 in a group which prevents sharing equipment and enhances your ammounts of flights.

A good sight to get more information about paramotoring in the uk is the British Paramotoring Club it offers information in how to find the best courses and good places to buy equipment from.
